I suggested he get magnaflow f-body muffler. Anyone elses opinion? Its not so much about loud or tone, but I know in spring he is prob gonna get a 3.4" pulley, and NGK plugs, with our custom intake so, exhaust is the best way to combat knock also.

Hmmm.........Maybe keep stock mufflers, but upgrade to a High Flow Cat?

If he doesn't mind the sound of the stock mufflers, it isn't going to hurt him any performance wise to keep them. They flow more than well enough to run 11'*, and I am pretty sure he isn't planning on doing that anytime soon. I would definately however replace the downpipe, cat, and u-bend. The most important of those is the u-bend though, then the downpipe, then the cat. You can buy a bolt-up unit (assuming the flanges on the stock exhaust haven't been chopped off) that takes ~10 minutes to install and flows VERY well. It isn't cheap though. Its a little over $300 IIRC. They sell it on 3800performance.com, it is the random technology one. Thats what we run on the GTP, only we have the one that is made to weld up to the headers, and it is great IMO.
If he wants better sound though, I would go with either a magnaflow or a borla muffler. I personally like the sound of both of them, they have that deep but quiet sound, and don't sound ricey when you rev the car up.
And if he is considering a pulley, have him get it on ASAP. That will give him WAY more gain than any other mod for the money, and he will only be mad that he didn't put it on sooner. It is a MUST HAVE.
I know Will is running a F-body, come this summer, I will too. Bonnevilles come with a single in dual out muffler, but the GTP has a true dual... I would stick to that if at all possible beacuse GTPs produce boost, and if your friend is thinking of upgrading a pulley he is going to have more air flowing through the exhaust system... so my suggestion would be to remove the u-bend and add some new magnaflow mufflers, and keep it a true dual...

What Bonnevilles don't have dual mufflers??? I know our SSEi is set up very similar to the GTP. It has one pipe with a cat & resonator that splits into 2 other pipes that each have mufflers. The earlier ones aren't like that?
