Help, somebody stole my stereo!
Wait, no they didnt, wtf?
came out to my car saturday morning, to find the driver door laying shut <shut, not latched>. im like wtf? i get in the car, and find the stereo pulled out, laying on the gear shift. i never got around to mounting the stereo, so it was just sitting on the dash. i had one of these:
cheapo $50 walmart cassette player. i think mr stereo stealer guy pulled it out, went, wtf?!? and just left it. thanks for the support mr thief
so it pays to get cheap stuff

get that thing fingerprinted, maybe the guy has a record already or something.
But aside from that, I personally find it to be freaking hilarious that someone would be low enough to break into your car, and then somehow offended by the cheapness of the products inside, refuse to even steal anything!

others say that the guy was scared away, but i just dont understand that if he was, why didnt he finish the job? how do you steal my stereo? here let me help you.
The civilized way:
Step 1: Open door <dont worry, it was unlocked>
Step 2: Get in car <i know it smells, but i cant help the mildew from the rain leaking in>
Step 3: Reach into dash and pull HU out < no unmounting required, its just in there>
Step 4: Unplug stereo <3 plugs: power distribution, speakers, antenna>
Step 5: Exit vehicle <Hope nobody saw you>
Step 6: Close door <Please latch it, you werent raised in a barn were ya? wait, nevermind>
Step 7: Enjoy your new stereo <Such as it is>
The typical way
Step 1: Get in car
Step 2: Rip stereo out
Step 3: Leave car
You have 2 options, next time finish job.
Also, another thing i dont get is that i live in a trailer park with a 6 foot wall all around, and only one way in or out, and that is through a security guard. why pick on my car, i live in the corner, away from the security guard <down the street, he can see my trailer>. i suspect this was targeted, but why?
oh well, you win some, you lose some. wait, i havent lost any yet.

I've gotta tell ya..
Yup.. I once owned an 1985 Ford EXP (if ya don't know..go Google, then try to stop laughing)
Thief broke the window behind drivers door. Got some speakers... tried the stereo..the good ole 2 post supertuner was still there in the morning because of the FORD EXPERIENCE. The bracket from the factory for a mount was a ridiculous 1/4" thick with 4 bolts holding it in.

Although that is a funny story, it still sux to know someone messed with your car. I hate thieves who cant work for a living and prey on other peoples hard earned property.
Bill, funny thing is, I too owned a Ford EXP. It was like the sport version of the escort. Heck I think they even had a Ford Escort GT!!
I saw the EXP on the side of the road for $500 and as a bonus it came with a Ford Escort that needed a CV joint and later found out a Strut mount welded.
I drove both cars for a year and a half before the NH state inspection revealed the Tower mount on the Escprt and the Tranny went on the EXP. Both JUNKED.
Now I have my beloved BLACK94SSEi
