Help me understand teenagers and there car audio's
#12
Well count me out as the typical teenager/young adult. Believe it or not, I am completely satisfied with my stock system. I just don't see dumping hundreds of dollars into a system for my car. I prefer to have a performing car, not a stereo on wheels. I really don't need anything extravagant, as all I listen to is classic rock and 80s. Honestly the only thing I will do to my Bonne audiowise, is replace the speakers with near OEM ones, and maybe later on a headunit with a CD and a AUX jack, that'* about it.

i agree, with you guys 100%. and im 18 years old. i hate when its crappy sounding and frankly i dont really like "bumping" in general. especially since i listen to absolutely NO rap AT ALL. the only reason i was ever planning on getting a sub was so that i could have a LITTLE more bass than my 4x6'* were putting out and just to intensify the listening experience. not to blow my ear drums out. but as it turns out i cant afford the quality i want so i just decided to deal with my car speakers. and the only reason i put those in were because the stock ones were way sub par and blown.

I hate this too. Definitely has to be quality over quantity.
I had a friend who always played his music as loud as possible, so much distortion it would make you sick.
He was always doing horrible stuff to, like mis-matched subs, home speakers in his cars, etc.
To this day I still can't stand much distortion at all.
Guess I am getting old too.

Pht. You guys are . I pull your chain and blast your music and can't get a rise out of any of you? Meh, what can I expect from a bunch of weenies that drive old-people cars...

You will have a hard time pulling my chain. Not everyone likes the same music and I don't expect anyone to like what I like. Some do, some don't. Not my problem or concern. Don't like it, don't listen.
(that a little better response for you? )

Just so we don't get off topic and I've made myself clear, I don't have an issue with spending thousands on a stereo system. What I'm trying to understand and so far I still don't, is why teenagers mainly, like to play there music with soooo much bass, that it doesn't sound natural and with so much distortion that it could vibrate one your ********* loose enough so that it hangs lower than the other permanently. As for the women on this board, well you can use your imagination.

I'm perfectly happy with both stock systems in both the 89 and the 93. I don't need to PAY money to intentionally blast my good hearing away. Of which is quite acute, and I'd like to keep it that way.
favorite types: breaking benjamin, three days grace, mudvayne, 3 doors down, incubus, ac/dc, nickelback, crossfade, metallica, staind, 10 years...you get the point. not alot of bumpin music in there.
