Only reason to get more then 4 megapixels is if you're printing larger then a sheet of paper, or doing a lot of cropping really.

jason is right.. the megapixels arent that big of a deal.. but it is cool that i could use any of these for a poster size print with crystal clear quanlity...
but, look at my moms pics, those were taken with a 3mp with 3x optical zoom, nothing fancy, and her pics turn out great... its all about whose pushing the buttons

Yep is has all to do with the picture taker and conditions.
I just bought a PANASONIC LUMIX with 12x optical zoom and 6.1 MP and my pics all come out looking crappy.

The camera is a DMC-FZ5 and I dont see a sensor size for it?
My other camera is a SONY DCR-TRV70 which takes better pics and its only a 2.1 megapixel I think?

Your FZ5 should take decent pictures. I have an FZ20 and I think it does a pretty good job -

I've dropped the resolution. Other than that there'* no post-processing on these pics. I don't have the eye Haro has, but your camera should be able to capture comparable pictures to these.
Haro, sorry for horning in on your thread man. Your shots are most excellent. I like 'em.
