I once heard theres two sure ways to start a fight, talk about politics and religion.
I completey agree with that statement. You cant talk about God to a group of people without upsetting someone. I'm done with this topic and any future ones that relate to it.

Agian, you all keep saying religion and I never said for someone to join a church of any way. But since this is on my mind now I might as well say this. I have seen a lot of conversations posted on here and if it was political, I dont know how many its been. I spoke my say so but NEVER told anyone not to say "Dont talk potlitics because I am this or that". But that conversation goes on and probraly eill be posted again. We all have the right of rfee speech correct? My saying Hallelujah is part of free speech and saying God with a capital "G" is a diffeence. I can't believe that I am getting this feed back. I know its a car forum, but I am not going to be in private to praise God either. I just cant back down. Then it will look as if I am scared or ashamed and I am not. Again, can someone pull a quote saying that I said ""You better go to church this sunday" or "Be a bapstist or protastant or Catholic" I never said this so this is not religion I am speaking on.

Web definitions for Jehovah
God'* holy name. (Isa 42:8; Psa 83:18 ) Some brothers use Jehovah'* name in public prayer in nearly every sentence, as a filler, and others use it two or three times in a single sentence. When used in such a way it becomes a meaningless mannerism. [w86 5/15 21-23] A brother from California urged me to be sure to point out that some brothers in his home town pronounce God'* name Je-HO-ver. Sadly, quite a few Witnesses whose only language is English actually misspell God'* name as ``Jehova''. Do these people ever study, or even bother to read the Bible or the magazines? NOTE: Never criticize brothers who offer public prayer for their words offered from the heart. On the rare occasion that something genuinely inappropriate is said, trust that Jehovah was listening and will care for any correction that may be needed.

First things first. Yes, this is a car forum... but the section we're all posting is defined as "For casual talk about things unrelated to Bonnevilles. In other words, off-topic stuff." I'd say this fits here, even if it is a hot topic or something that others might be "uncomfortable" with. Both religion and politics can successfully be debated respectfully, without slamming any one person or set of beliefs.
Evangelism (i.e. sharing one'* faith with another) is a required part of Christianity, so anyone (myself included) who claims to be a Christian is obligated to share what is commonly called the Good News. There are endless ways to "share", from living a life of example to shouting the news from every street corner! Sometimes I am overwhelmed by God'* creation and grace, and I can't help but talk to others about it! I think that is what ssesc93 is experiencing. Having a personal relationship with God (which is why He sent Jesus to live and die on earth) is another part of Christianity, but it can't end there. That'* not to say every Christian should be a preacher for a living... but every Christian *should* share with others in their life. We are becoming a faithless society, which is a scary thought to me and will only end in disaster.
These are not my personal ideas, but rather Biblical principles. I share my faith and beliefs when I feel it is appropriate, which probably still isn't enough and is an aspect of my life where I could undoubtedly improve. ssesc93, I appreciate your being so vocal on this topic. If people notice a change in you, then that is the greatest confirmation that you're doing something right! It shows your pure allegiance and determination, which is something not many folks express anymore for the fear of being branded as "intolerant" or "politically incorrect".

In my experience, there are 2 things that should never be discussed in a public forum if you want to keep the peace. That is politics and religion. People views and opinions are so strong in these categories, that they just create anger and frustration. No matter what, everyone is going to try to promote their views, so rather than fighting on here, lets just drop the subject.

This doesnt make any sence how I cant share or talk about God on a public forum. here we have all types of conversation, good or bad, politics or whatever but when someone hears or see Gods' name, they dont want to here it. Taking prayer out of schools, not being abole to talk about God? But yet, people want to come together all over September 11 sing God Bless America our home sweet home? I dont get it. This confuses me.

It'* because so many people have different beliefs man. If somebody came to this board and said "Praise allah for he is good." How would you react to that? You probably wouldn't like it too much and would set out to prove him wrong and say that your god is the god to follow. Religion is something we choose to believe how we want to. To avoid the conflicts on an online forum full of all different types of people it'* just best not to talk about it. In religion there are so many beliefs, types, and variables that nobody is going to totaly agree. It is always going to be controversial. Now, something like your favorite book is going to be something less controversial because it'* not something you live by. Religion is the foundation of how we live our lives and it really shouldn't be thrown out like that because there'* so many people that believe different things.
