I don't have a droid so I don't know what all is available. I know that almost all of the apps are free and opensource.

Droid has tons of apps, and most of them tend to be free or cheaper compared to the i apps which tend to be costly. I'm beta testing the app developer, hoping to make some apps of my own.

I've found everything I've ever looked for in a free app so far. Chatting with iPhone friends it appears the Droids to have much more available as they aren't iProduct and restricted by the iPolice or iSoftware.
Sure you can pay for apps or to remove the few ads you might find etc. Overall though, nearly everything is free and checking the review stars next to the app name is a good way to choose the best ones.
Barcode scanner - tells you where to find the product for the upc at the best price, online or not.
Google Goggles - Recognizes items you take pictures of and can easily tell you prices, or information about historical monuments etc.
Drive Safe.ly - Reads text messages aloud while you have it in driving mode.
Pandora - Nuff said.. it'* great.
DroidLight - Uses the camera'* flash as a flashlight. Be careful..it'* bright.
Photobucket - App to automatically send pics to PB
Craigsnotification - Soon to be Dan'* favorite. Put in what you are looking for, where and how much. Automatic notifications.
When texting the microphone button: lets you speak to your phone. then it automatically types it into the text for you. Speak, press send, text done.

Will any phone with the Droid OS do the things a "real" droid does?
Cause the phone I want is the LG Ally which has the droid operating system but is cheap with a 2 year contract than the Motorola Droid. Will there be features lacking from the LG?
The reason Im going with the LG other than cost of coarse is Ive owned alot of LG'* and i can navigate threw them easily. Just a personal preferance. Just like my preferance with Pioneer over Kenwood, Clarion, Alpine, ect

My Samsung is free after rebate. Can't beat that price.
I'm going to have to check out that app Bill. Thanks, like I don't spend money fast enough.
