Got my CDL-A
Took the pre-trip, skills, and road test Friday morning, got the license itself that afternoon.
Got CDL-A with endorsements T,X (that'* doubles/triples, and HAZMAT/tanker for you civilians).
Still looking for a job, long-haul preferably.
I'll see you on the road!

Long haul=towing a load for a very long distance. Think water-to-water. 2-4 weeks at a time on the road with little or no home time. Hard work, long hours, big bucks.
Thanks all for the job-hunt tips, I'll follow up on those. No, I don't have any experience yet. I'm looking at a regional company out of London, OH, here near Columbus. Possible I might work there until I get a year'* experience under my belt, then look for higher ground.
Thing is, no matter where I go, I'm still going to be looking at twice the money I've ever pulled down in a year before. I got into this because I was sick of being shat on by employers. My last boss was an unmitigated jack-***, and a flaming drunk to boot.
I figure it'* past time I moved into a more professional career.
Hopefully I'll find something quick so I can get out on the road. I've been living with my folks for over a year, trying to recover from a real financial Hindenburgh, and we're driving each other INSANE!

Well, you in the right career to be in so no one can physically breath down you shoulder. Mind you that you still have to communicate with you dispatcher and the shipper/consigneee to let them know you location and ETA. Othere that that it will be smooth sailing. Let me see what jobs that are available in that area. I see you said that you wanted Long haul and regional. Which one do you really want? If you choos regional, you can be home either every weekend becuase your driving within a 500 mile radius LTL regional which is you driving straight to the destionation and coming back to you home location and picking up another load and deliverying that straight thru until the weekend,(Home every other night and off on the weekends) You make you money with the LTL regional because you get more stops. any where from 20-40 dollars a stop and pick-up with $.35 per mile.
