Got laid off today.
Well, after being off work for 2 weeks(disability), I go in to see the boss as requested and was handed a lay off notice. How friggin nice is that? Geez. Funny thing is, boss said he had to call someone else in that was laid off(permanent) to cover for me, and forced me to be laid off. Gonna have to see what the union says about this.

I'm really sorry to hear that Mike1995 and I know how stressfull and angry that can make you. Depending on the Union and the exact situation, they maybe able to help. Hopefully......and I mean hopefully you've been able to save up for a rainy day so to speak.
If you need someone to talk to........I can see if I can find Boosty for ya?
PS.If you don't mind me asking, what is the unemployment rate in the US. now?

Oh geez. "I got laid today". Thats a good one! Yea, waiting for the union reps to get back from their UNION LUNCH so I can call them.
Really haven't been able to save for the rainy day. I have been through like 3 pay cuts in the last 5 months. Went from like 1200 a week down to 500 a week. Survived three layoffs and was hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe I can get real lucky and have some lawyer see my dilemma and we can sue the hell out of the company and I can be rich and buy Will'* zilla!
Will'* zilla? That doesn't sound right. Dont do it!
Yea Boosty, I need a shoulder to cry on and where is Barney. Need to hold something.

If you have a Union to back you, that medical leave/disability is an interesting card to have in your hand.
I suspect you'll have your job back soon.
Bidding on the Zilla starts at $10k.

Not to rain on the parade, or steal the post, but my wife and brothers job just got tossed. They both work for what used to be F. Dohmen a pharmaceutical distributor. She was off for surgery for three months without any pay or disability, and when she went back to work in April she found out that the company was bought out. Then about a month and a half later they told everyone that they were shutting her plant down. Well as far as the union she belongs to (Local 1444) they are only giving a week severance for every year being there. That is crap. The health is extended for 2 months for everyone. That is from the union. The company felt bad for the employees and gave them at least one month. So my wife is getting one week from the crap union, and 3 weeks from the company Cardinal Health. The real kicker is that she is still paying union dues and will probabally have to pay dues from all her 4 weeks of checks of severance. INMO Union sucks. they took the employees money there and ran. They have done nothing for the employees in this whole deal. Sorry if this is long just wanted to let you that I would never count on a union after what I saw my wife and brother just go through. :(
