Burnouts are easy with massive Low End Torque. Massive low end torque means bad milage if you can't drive like grandma.
Those 305'* can be built up easy! Just grab a C4 vette camshaft, get some headers, and change the TBI to something else

It'* a manual transmission car and that will work very well to roast tires.
The small 5 L engine is a little weak and the rear end in those 80'* cars were bad. Notice that the rearend was changed to an 88....bad year for diffs, even worse than 84.
Find something different but stick with a manual transmission and gearing as high as possible or go with an engine like I have in my 79 Firebird....6.6 L if you really want to SMOKE THOSE BALONEYS

you wanna smoke some tires gears to look for a 4:10 and 3:73 big 8 and light assend stick is good but make sure you got a good clutch in it stage 3 would be nice i think mustangs are good for burnners

that trans am looks alot like my other car only mines merlot colored
I just bought a 86 trans am like that, but I have a 350 in it. Once I get it working it should have at the least around 250 hp and thats with no mods. Before I stared fixing it i took for a "test drive" and I gave it some power around a lil circle drive and that thing burned-out and fish-tailed like a mother. My friend did the same thing with the car and he said he couldnt believe how raw and crazy the car would burnout around a corner. He even said he was easy on the gas after he felt the rear end start slipping.

Haha, my parents 89 Grand Marquis can do burnouts like crazy even with 150hp and 270ftlb. You can look for a 89-91 Ford Thunderbird */C for burnouts. 215hp and 300ftlb. REALLY smokes those T Birds tires.
