Does anybody else hate taking their car to a garage to have some work done on it? I sure do. I have to make an appointment to get my car checked over and a small tune up before I go back to school. I like the fact that there will be work done that I can't do myself, but I cringe every time I think about somebody else working on my car. Oh well. At least now I'll know why the ses light is on. lol The best part is my dad is paying for it.

I've never had an issue with taking my car to a shop. Mainly because I always go to the local mom & pop shops wherever I am. They always treat me right.

i hate shops too, thats the reason i learned to do everything on my own. ive never been to a shop dealer/local mom and pop or otherwise when i walked away thinking they knew what the f they were doing. i always walked away thinking i could have done a better job for way less money, and i dont know how many times ive had to clean out the interior or put back something they didnt put back together right, etc...

Wow, sounds like a few bad experiences. I've taken my truck there a couple times before. One time was to replace the uim gasket, and they charged a reasonable price for what was done. I'm even related to one of the owners. Its only a small shop and I know from previous experiences that they wouldn't go and look for things to replace that don't need to be..I'm just a little over protective of my car.

I don't like taking my car to a shop. The last time my car went to get the alignment done I ended up going back again and paying the $80 again to have it realigned 3 months later. He then decided that the lower ball joint(if I remember right) needed to be replaced and did it without asking me so the bill ended up being around $180 for something I could have done myself. Big shock to the wallet too.

Happy to be a friend of the only garage in the township and have another with his own lift in his barn. Makes keeping up with the truck an affordable breeze.

got to love how you fix one car then the other breaks. fix the regal... gto eats a nail. put new tires on the truck the knock sensor fails and the baljoints are in need of replacement. and on the regal the engine has no more vac leaks but the ic res leaks because of the epoxy and the ic pump doesnt work so now I am boostless till a new pump shows up. murphy... eat your heart out because I know your laws are messing with me
