GM no longer number #1.

Who cares where the plant are!
Buying GM = Money kept in America
Buying Toyota = Money to Japan or wherever their headquarters are
And IMO, every foreign car that I have driven isn't everything I've heard about it. I drove a Hyundai recently that was so slow it was DANGEROUS. Normal acceleration was pedal to the floor in that car. I am also a very conservative driver, I drive easy and don't floor it. and it was extremely slow off the line, so if you ever needed to move out the way fast you might as well forget about it.

First, I LOVE my Bonnie, but I have NEVER been a fan of GM interiors. They have greatly improved lately, but overall I gotta give reliability and style to the foreign cars. (Well, not Hyuandai.
But, I still prefer to buy American because of my stupid foolish pride.

I love many American cars, but holy crap US interiors are (for the generally affordable) junk. I hate my Impala'* interrior. Its one big piece of plastic that feels like it would destroy my skull if my head hit it. Then again an Impala is a cheaper sedan when compared to a Bonneville.
My love is in American motors, not so much the designs.

And the next generation of GM interiors looks to be even another step up from what they are now.

To me, the Park Ave and LSS interiors are essentially the same as that of the Bonneville, just dressed up a tad more. Aurora is pretty decent, definately better than the other GM vehicles.
I took a ride in a 2001 STS - beautiful car that I would absolutely own myself - but I couldn't help but think upon seeing the interior: THIS car cost $70k Canadian? No way. The '05 STS is much the same. Gimme the Lexus GS interior.

Yeah, it'* still all plastic, but the texturing and quality of the plastic is getting better, and the leather is as good as anything. I get into Toyotas and I see low-quality plastic with silver paint or cheap fake carbon-fiber. Tap the plastic with a knuckle and you get a sound like tapping on a Tonka truck.
Truthfully, my main problem with Toyota is that they have absolutely no personality. They're the soulless box that I've always hated. Hondas are almost as bad, but at least they have a little spirit. Nissans I like, they have some real personality. The older Toyotas like the Cressida or the Supra are cool, but I hate the last few generations of Toyotas with a passion. And the new ones are downright ugly.
