Gearheads and other knowledgable folk, I need help...
diagnosing what hell is making the noise coming from under my blazer. it only occurs upon acceleration and it is a clicking noise, it seems to only happen threw the first gear. im not sure if it could be the fan maybe or if the trans is poopin out or what. the drive shaft seems tight and putting it in 4x4 does not get rid of the clicking. your thoughts PLEASE! thanks

Auto trans? Sometimes bolts between the flywheel and torque converter work their way loose, and start to rub internally, making a clicking or even chirping sound. You can usually remove the inspection cover and get a look in there.
Good luck tracking it down!

Hard to say. Can you feel any vibration through the body of the blazer that corresponds to the clicking?
Some of the things I would try would be trying to isolate the noise to a particular area. For example, loose torque converter bolts would be audible even when the engine was at idle or reving the motor in nuetral.
I would be checking the transmission mount on the tailshaft. low speed acceleration puts the most load on the transmission..a bad mount on the tailshaft would rattle and clunk as it moved around under acceleration. I would also put the rear axle up on jackstands and run it through the gears to see if the clicking is present....though ba gears or a driveshaft problem would be there all the time.
Is this one an 700R4/4L60 or a manual transmission?

theres no vibration threwout the body, the whole truck seems to be running normally other than this odd clicking.
i will check the tranny tailshaft mount and try to check the flywheel/ torque converter bolts. i will also put it on jackstands to see if the clicking is still there.
i think its a 700r4 but im not sure...
thanks for the help so far guys!

I vote for universal joints or driveshaft. On the jack stands puts about 0 load on the drivetrain, so if it did not click I would guess it is load related instead of a 1st gear only thing. It just happens that 1st gear gives you the highest loads on the drivetrain.
My friend'* Bronco 2 was clicking, really only doing it when starting from a stop, and he lost his driveshaft a couple weeks later. And the harder he accelerated the worse it would click. When the shaft went out he was driving on the highway so he wasn't in 1st gear, but he was going up hill so I'm sure he had it floored in order to maintain his speed.
