The Grand Am was completely paid for up front, so I didn't need Comprehenesive but I have it. I can afford insurance payments, but I couldn't afford to repair/replace it so its a must for me.

I have comp on mine. I cannot carry collision because they've already paid for the car once. The company I work for and insure through uses NADA to determine value. They pay high retail on collision claims.

I carried comp & collision on my 91 because it was in excellent condition and the NADA said I'd get over $1200 less my deductible. So for me- that would put me into another car asap and what I paid for the coverage wasn't very much.

Right now I have a zero comp deductible and it only costs me $12.81 per month. If I hit a deer or a tree falls on my car I am good to go. Jeff, on the other hand, carries the same coverage but his zero comp is costing him $27 per month. But if you have to replace your windshield - those heads up windshields are expensive.

Like I tell my customers- it all depends on YOUR comfort level. Either you will pay more now or then, it'* your choice.
