FRAGGED has military reference. When you FRAG someone, you use a fragmentation grenade on them. It usually means you have pieces flying everywhere, just like a grenade.
So Frag=grenade, and it doesn't really mean 'just stopped working'.
SSEi95 fragged his trans. It blew gears out through the case. I fragged my output shaft on the right side, but it stayed in the case.

It'* all in the eye of the beholder. Kind of like truth, who defines truth? I'm not going to get all fired up about philosophy again, however since there is no set definition for this, it could be anything related to transmission failure. I'm going to agree with Bill though.. his definition is much better than mine, and does give a better cooralation between the real definition, and the car-relative definition.
