FINALLY! - GOT IT!
Well after 2 1/2 months of being unemployed i FINALLY have an interview!!!
I've got an interview at one of the local McDonald'*. I have worked at the same McDonald'* before, so hopefully I've got a good chance of getting the job.
I really need a job right now because i am running really low on cash. I'm just excited that after 30 or 40 applications i have my first interview, man the job opportunity'* suck up here

Congrats!
I'm still looking for something permanent. Problem is, I need at least $12 an hour to survive. And I ain't as young as I used to be...

Alpena! I used to live in Oscoda. Raced at an MX track up in Alpena many times - one of my favorite tracks, back in the day.
I hope you get the job, Robb, but let me ask you this: Do you drop off your applications then go home and wait for the phone to start ringing? You'll never get the job you want that way, dude. If you really want a job, you have to go back and "pester" those folks. (I don't mean be annoying, you want them to LIKE you!). Contact them at least once a week or so, whether by phone or in person. Trust me, for minimum wage jobs employers will have a stack of 500 applications and they're not likely to read every freakin' one of them - if he'* heard your name or seen your face recently and he needs to fill a position you'll be miles ahead of the other weenies. You want your name to float to the top.
And here'* something else. When you fill out an application, use your BEST handwriting and spell everything correctly. This may seem trivial, but you know which applications in that stack of 500 will find the trash can first? I've seen some of the applications that go through a family business and I can promise you the applicants that can barely spell their own name right go straight to the bottom, right next to the ones that can't be read. Such a simple thing to do to increase your odds. Don't use text-speak either. Remember that old ppl like me r reading these and we find text language rather annoying. It has its place in text messaging, but not on a job app. Sorry, that'* the way it is.
Good luck, mate, and I hope you land the job. And remember, the BEST time to look for a better job is when you already have one!
