FIGHT GAS PRICE
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES AND
CANADA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT
THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR
STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET
LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF
THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE SEPTEMBER 1st HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP
THEIR BEHIND " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THESE TWO NATIONS SHOULD
NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO
AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD
OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN
PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP
BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING
COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES
ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING
MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER
ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT
AGAIN AND AGAIN.
SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO
EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 1ST A
DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA SAY
"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

And I hate to mention this, but September 1st is the the first day back to school for the kids in Alberta...so I know those parents will have to fill up, along with all the busses, so sorry about that day. The rest of the country goes back to school September 6th.....explain that one too me :?

Not only is it a good luck thing. But everyone who would have needed gas on Sept 1 would fill either before or after. If we don't stop driving for a week or two, it wouldn't impact anything.
it would all catch up in the end. There are a couple simple facts, we are dependent on it currently and we are aiming to be dependent for a while.

Odd I was just talking with the Esso rep today about gas and lubricants price increases.
New oil is expected in 2007 which will clean carbon deposits better (industry wide change).
Tropical storms in the gulf slow production and 2 refineries in Texas have stopped producing any gas or diesel. Seems one burnt down (bp). Also it takes 10 years to build a refinery so there will be no ease soon.
If the crisis in the middle east comes to a close and there is a warm winter back east (they still heat with oil) we hope the price will remain the Same but it looks like the trend will remain for another year at least :?

speaking of refineries - do any of you know when the last time a refinery was built in the USA?
***theme from final Jeopardy plays***
just think about the technology we have gained in the last thirty years, if we would build a few modern refineries (the environmentalists throw fits at the mere mention of it) we could increase the refinement capabilities we have and even start refining "heavy" crude for fuel rather than the "light" crude we use now.
