Failed....again
Dad took the Eagle to get inspected again, I reconnected the smog pump and put in a hotter ignition, I also poured stuff that gauranteed me to pass emissions. IT WAS WORSE THAN THE FIRST TIME!! 1.7 and it needs to be 0.5 or less to pass, the first time it was 1.4 or 1.5
Anybody got any idears?

AMC I-6, right?
1) Clean carb. It may even need to be rebuilt. Waitaminut....THOSE models have the feedback carb....DO rebuild it.
2) Check the O2 sensor.
3) If all you need to do is pass emissions, adjust the mixture to where it is as lean as possible, then readjust afterwards.
4) Hows that cat converter?

No no carb feedback on this one. THe Carter 2 bbl was replaced with a Motorcraft 2150.
No modifications, besides the carb, My dad has much more carb experience and said she is already running lean, I think I'll check the vacuum lines, adjust the carb, then replace the 02 sensor, the last thing I'll do is the cat conv

Is selling the car and buying a newer one a option? That'* what I would do. Especially if this is the second time it failed. Older cars, especially carbed ones aren't really worth buying unless it'* a muscle car.

If I did buy a new car, it would be a V8 Bonneville or an SS Camaro (or get my dad'* 302 F150).

I love this car, not going to trade her in just yet, when I'm done restoring the Kammback I might sell the wagon and buy another car to restore, probably a 67 Impala I've had my eyes on

I have also heard of people tweaking the timing, but I don't know what good it does. Bah, what do i know, we dont even have emissions testing
Its a good thing too, because my car failed it 4 times in california according to carfax :(
