eBay annoyance...
Just feel like sharing my latest eBay annoyance. There is no real importance to this, so read at your own risk.
I recently purchased a new battery for my 2 year old cell phone on eBay. My old battery in my phone hadn't been holding a charge like it used to, and I was tired of charging it all the time, and having it die at inopportune times. Anyways, I selected a worthy appearing seller and got a new one shipped.
The auction stated: "Brand New, never used Original OEM battery for LG." Well, it arrived in the mail, and I popped it in my phone. I tried hitting the power on button, and nothing happened. I just figured it was dead and plugged it into my charger. After about 5 seconds of charging the phone stated it was fully charged... So, I unplugged the charger and my phone immediately shut off. I tried the power button again, and nothing. I tried several times to get the battery to work, and long story short it was a dead battery.
I contacted the seller and they promised a prompt replacement after I shipped them back the battery. Shipping at my cost of course... So, I packed it up nice, and shipped it back to them.
I got my replacement yesterday, and opened it up tonight to try it out. Well, guess what..? This battery is very much so USED even though the auction stated "Brand New." The battery contacts have scratches (exactly where the phone contacts the battery) and there is crusted on dirt and grime. This replacement battery is actually dirtier than my original one, and my old one has been in my pocket for 2 years.
Anyways, I contacted the seller again, and opened a dispute with PayPal this time. I'm going to just try to get my money back. Even if I get nothing back, the total with shipping was only $7. So, not like I'm out a fortune, but I'm not shipping it back for replacement again.
Just one of those annoyances you get using eBay once in a while...
