For all those who are in 'the age' to be drafted, you should really read this.

That is awful! I think it should be a freedom of choice. What about all of our students. What about the parents that have only one child. This needs to be addressed before the upcoming elections so that the voters can make an accurate decision.

Sad...what a pathetic antiquated idea. :?
Service to the nation for the good of the nation is fine, but thats a choice that an individual has to make. The argument of the draft in Europe is different. Military service in Europe is mandatory for some nations, but thats different. Service there is for the benefit of that nation, economics and infrastructure. European nations have a habit of not starting wars with other nations nowadays, they dont go off to fight some "old mans" war for no reason....George
But..whatever, Kerry and Bush have to take a postion on this one may make or break an election based on the younger voters.

I swear we'll never learn. I for one, refuse to go fight for a war that I do not support. If they want to make the decision to end lives, then they should go themselves, not force people that do NOT want to go to fight their war. I refuse to go if drafted, not because I'm 'afraid' of a war, but because I do not support it! Maybe I'm a bit of a transcendentalist?
