Doom 3
I just got a hold of it. I played the first level.
Here'* my review:
HOLY **** !!
And it scared the crap out of me. If you are really in to shooter games, and are a fan of the Doom series, I totally reccommend getting this game.

Just tell me....how does a game that is state of the art, been in design and production for over 4 years look so stunning....and only allow 4 ppl via network play? WTF is up with that?

It wasn't made as a multiplayer game as its dominant mode. It is based off the original Doom, where is focuses more on a single player basis. Trust me, it shouldn't have been any other way. This game is amazing.

Sol, I just wanted to say that I just got done looking at the blog page in your sig, and all I have to say is this: I will always remember you for the 30+ minutes of my life that you and your site has stole away from, like a thief in the night :P Although, I do have to say, it seems like you guys have a lot of fun up there in Detroit God, I wish it snowed down here :( I hate palm trees!

I went to BestBuy as soon as it opened Tuesday to pickup my copy. I remember the original Doom game, using a SERIAL cable to "multiplay" with my friends, or two of us dialing EACHOTHER over the modem (28.8K) for co-operative play. I loved Doom because it was the best single player FPS, all other FPS since have made it a point to put emphasis on multiplayer play instead of the AI, or graphics, or sound, or PLOT etc. Doom 3 has scared the crap out of me each night I have played it, when Doom 2 came out I actually called in sick to work for three days to play it, and play it I did. From when I got up till the wee hours of the morning, it caused some minor nightmares, but after only playing Doom 3 for 45 minutes the first night I had INTENSE nightmares. Folks, if you dont have the game, GET IT, if you can't run it, UPGRADE. This one is well worth it.

It looks decent on my GF4 4800. I would like to upgrade to a 5900, but I can deal with it.
I am at work right now, and I really wanna go home and play it. I am used to playing multiplayer shooters like UT2k4 and such, so this is a bit different for me. But I love it!
I played Doom 1 back when I was 9 years old. That and Wolf3d actually got me in to the shooter games 10 years ago. This is quite different from Doom 1 and 2, but the same monsters, guns, and plot still exist.

Lol, I would get it, but I'm a panzy and don't like being scared Hell, I used to get scared playing Half-Life when the head crabs would jump at you! I will sum up the courage to play Half-Life 2, however My God, so many good games are coming out in September (my b-day month, yes!) it'* not even funny :P I counted no less than 12 games I want that are coming out in the next 2-3 months, and 8 of those I have decided that I WILL NOT be able to live without! I love my PC, hehe...
