Default Doode, we're getting a dell!

Well another one at least...

Our current computer is a little out dated(dell p3, 1ghz, 256mb, 20gig HD) so last night my dad and I ordered a new one. A dell 8300 series... specs are as follows:
-3Ghz p4 with hyper threading
-1GB of Ram
-120 gig HD
-16x DVD drive
-8x DVD+RW drive
-and few other standard things...

Default dell

dell may not be the best "high performance" computer but i am on my 2nd one and i have had no problems at all. it always works fine. the best part is that i get a 2 year INTEREST FREE loan from my work to buy a computer. $17 a week.......deducted right out of my check.

Well for the audio I have, and video editing I plan on doing, there is NO way this computer would be able to support editing programs. Plus, my dad got a prime deal through his work, so this was the perfect oppertunity. My mom also does a lot of financial programs(quick books, etc.) at home too, with all of the windows the programs open, it takes foever to do anything.

With 1gig of RAM, video editing will be great. I have a gig in mine, and I edit a lot of video. It works great.

Plus with your HT, compression will be super fast.

Sol, what do you use to edit... in the beginning I plan on just using WMM2.0 but would like to upgrade once I learn all about that?

The kind of cool thing is, I am going to be getting another new computer in 6 months...
