i want a program that tells me which programs on my computer are using the internet at a given time...i have dial up and even when im just sittin there doing nothing my connection is on full boar...and bandwidth is a precious commodity...thnks

WinPatrol works OK.

The contemporary firewalls also do that. They also let you controll which program can use the internet.

ZoneAlarm will alert you everytime a program trys to connect with another computer/server. Not too sure if it works with dial-up or not though.

yeah i have used ZoneAlarm in the past, i just dont have it now, it slows down my computer alot for some reason....but these programs hogging all my bandwidth is makin me mad, especially since i dont know where theyre coming from!
