I agree Miami! I also think that the news has shown us too much of the war, etc. War isn't pretty, it is brutal and ugly and people are going to get hurt. The media is all over that showing us every last detail. Like someone else here said before- they don't show the good that we have done just the bad. Anyone can be painted to be a saint or a sinister with a one-sided portrayal.
Unfortunatly its war and gore that sell magazines and get ratings, perfect example is ask yourself this, when you drive past a car wreck do oyu look or do you just keep driving.

O'Reilly is a tool who isnt worth a second of my time with his one-sided misinformed BS and no I dont watch CNN I get my info from independant sources

America didnt not join the WWII because of depression but because of the people not wanting it I dont buy the depression story because Britain and many others who were in the same depression were able to join the fight.

I dont hate America because the people are great and you can't generalize, its the people in power right now and their policies that I absolutly hate. A question to the bush admin, why is it you dont hesitate to buy more and more bombers but the people have to have bake sales to support education

People forget that the role of the Federal government is federal issues. Things like education should really be a state issue. I'm a very big proponent of states rights.

World defense is a federal thingy. One thing we have forgotten is that America isn't a state, but a nation. We are a united STATES of America. A state is a country. This is why we have a governor, congress and our own supreem court. We are not a collection of provinces. Yet, that is what this nation is becoming. It is a bummer to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm for unity and all, but states rights help keep the balance of power.

BTW I'm also a vet---- and agree with what Will said. I love my next door neighbors from Canada!!!

I was watching a report on TV, not sure what station, where they were talking of reporting in other countries. They were interviewing conservatives from France, Great Britian, etc... who were not allowed to report anything positive concerning Bush and the war in Iraq. Some had even lost their jobs. Overseas they're being told we're in a quagmire and that the Iraqi'* hate us.

Yet, I know a few soldiers serving over there. There are more schools open now then ever before. More people have electricity than ever before. Women are finaly getting better treatment. The people, for the VAST majority are very grateful for what we have done. One group of fifteen Iraqi organizations bought a full page ad in USA Today in which they thanked us for the sacrifice of both our resourses and our lives to obtain their freedom. I was told to not believe what the media is saying. They focus on one area where there is dissent and show it while portraying it as what most of Iraq is saying and feeling. Yet these fellow vets were showered with love and kindness by the people of Iraq-- and still are.

What is funny is that we get an Amber alert and people go crazy trying to find one lost child, and if the child is dead we hunt down the guilty with a passion. Yet we save how many lives and avenge hundreds of thousands who were brutalized and murdered, and all we can focus on is where are the WMD. It doesn't count that all the other nations had the same intelligence and agreed with us, instead we make it into a Bush conspiricy theory.

Now tell me the media is unbiased and fair.... ha!

There are reports of multiple findings of WMD. Not just the one round that went off with Sarin, but they found another 12 missles with Sarin and mustard gas, they found the hidden vehicles that were mobile labs with traces of past use for WMD, and there is an investigation going on for a crapload of drums found just across the border into Syria with WMD. Where is all this big media coverage? If someone else had been in office then it would be front page stuff in America. Where was this reported in overseas organisations? Why isn't it? Only limited news agencies share this stuff.

Sorry if I'm ranting. I'm just upset at the lack of balanced OBJECTIVE news coverage.

Don't get me wrong, while I voted for Bush, I want the truth good or bad. I just hate that only the bad is being shown and that when any good is shown people dismiss it as propaganda. That'* not showing honesty and integrity IMHO.

I agree that there is a whole hell of a lot that isnt getting reported. I think that they intentionally show us things that arent really that important and hide the most vauable facts and opinions to make more money. thats why when i want to watch the news, i watch it on pbs. They are the only tv station that isnt corrupted by money.

Wow, i wasnt expecting 3 pages!!

CNN is incrediblly biased for a company that is supposed to base its livelyhood on reporting! example:
for the last 2 years the main topic on thier world homepage is how many US servicemen got blown up today. There is ALOT more good happening in Iraq than bad. But they are a liberal left wing ***** station that uses this as a stage to get the people to be against the bush adminstration b/c they are. IF they report anything good about Iraq, it doesn't even get headlines.

Foxnews tells it like it is, the way it should be reported. they report good bad and ugly. They report both sides of the story not just the liberal side. they take shots at bush too, but only when its deserved or an actaul fact. LIberals just make **** up all the time, its unbelievable! liberalism is turning into a cancer of this country. (mainly the 80% liberal reporters)

Coincidently, here is another article describing exactly that
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,125536,00.html

i personally dont take sides, Im not liberal or conservative, republican or democrat, im for the values and ideas that feel right from my heart as a human being caring about all others& taking consideration of how they'd feel if our actions and polices were directly afffecting them.

having said that i dont agree with ALOT of our foreign policy, its full of hypocracy and double standards that always seem to favor us making more money, and i dont agree that we should have went to war with Iraq the way we did, bush just acted like an arrogant azz like he didnt care what the other countries had to say, how they voted in the security council or what not. His mind was already made up. he should have, as well as the entire adminstration , handled it more tacfully and gracefully. although i do agree that it should have been done SOONER than l8r. i would have liked to see us use our 120,000 troops to cap bin laden before committing them to Iraq at that time.

What we need is a forum for the american poeple to be heard. Our alledged representatives are doing a poor poor job. i dont want bush back, but i'll be damned if i want Carrie i mean Kerry in there. :P

ARNOLD FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

thats true. The sad part is the POLITICIANS & MEDIA take the sides and we are forced to pick one or the other. All of them are persauded by thier sponsors for money bribes i mean donations.

thats why we need Arnie! He doesnt need thier damn money, and his decisions are based on his passion for doing whats right for the poeple.

stupid not born in america rule. we are a country that was founded by poeple that immigrated to this country.

I'm on the right for ethics and traditional values, but center on policies. I think both parties have good points in that arena.
