I agree with MOS. Run the defrag in Safe Mode. It only loads the basic drivers. I use Diskeeper 7.0 to defrag mine. Check the link below on the dell Forum. Lots of good info. Go to your OS forum and read all post about defragging or Dimension- Hard drive forum. All kinds of questions are answered about defragging.
