Dead laptop, dead iPod, dead life rant
Well my laptop died. In the middle of the night the FREAKIN CAT spilled a whole glass of water on it. It didn't quite fry the motherboard, the computer will still start up but it takes about 15 mins, and the keyboard is whacked, otherwise i could probably use it...the touchpad won't work either. so the photo catalog is on there, mybusiness website, my business documents, quotes, statements, work orders, my calendar, address book, basically everything, i'm gonna try to see if i can get the data off somehow....maybe they make ATA-6 to ATA 133 adapters? Anyways, so now its a three day weekend and so they can't ship me a box until tuesday, might not get it till friday, then won't get the computer sent back out until the FOLLOWING monday...and then it takes 10 days from there. So it looks like i am not gonna have a computer for quite some time. well i have other computers, but still, i use my laptop for everything...its a big part of my life. OHHH, and my ipod was sitting in water too when i woke up, so now i need to get that sent in...WONDERFUL. MY life is going SO WELL!!! I took apart the laptop to try and get some water or something out of it, i will post pics i suppose....since now i don't know quite what to do. i guess thats why they say don't put all your eggs in one basket. Weirdest thing is that i didn't even have a glass of water near my computer when i went to sleep...and when i woke up it was not even tipped over...it makes no sense. OH AND TO JUST TOP IT ALL RIGHT THE HELL OFF... now the damn car wants to stall on me when i put it in gear. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOMEONE SHOOT ME.

Let your electronics sit for a few days without turning them on to FULLY dry - it may be your last change for salvaging anything. Better than losing it all.
I sent a USB key into the laundry (128MB and no important files), no biggie. I let it dry for a couple weeks, it still works
