Dale Jr in 08
Just got this in the newsletter email this morning
# No #25 for Jr. at Hendrick: Q) Will The Owner Points For The #5 And
#25
Stay In Place Where They Are In 2008?
A) Rick Hendrick: "Yes, they'll stay like they are. Casey will move
over to
the #5 car and that'* the only that will change there and the number
will
change on the #25."
Q) Do You Already Know What Number and Sponsor Dale Jr. will have and
can
you reveal it?
A) Rick Hendrick: "It'* not going to be the #8. Nor the #25. And the
sponsorship, hopefully in the next two weeks we'll be able to announce
that
and the number at the same time. We hope that'* going to be probably
something with the #8 [such as 81,58,82,38,28] in it but we really
don't
even have that locked in right now. That'* a true story."

From: Somewhere south of Ottawa with your girlfriend driving faster then you.
You can go ahead and scratch the 38,28 off that list RYR will not give up the 38 and still has rights to the 28.
Depending on what the new sponsor for the 38 wants to do but more then likely they will keep that number.

So confused. Keep hearing NOT the 38 or 28, from reliable sources.
Also hear it is a good chance ti will be the 81.
Also just read today about this, funny you mention the 28
Dale Jr.'* New Number - No. 28?
The Hendrick team has filed a trademark application for the No. 28 with
the
U.*. Patent and Trademark Office on Aug. 31. The team had previously
filed
trademark applications for the 38, 51, 58, 81 and 82, but the No. 28
was
added a week ago. Robert Yates Racing last used the No. 28 in Nextel
Cup in
2002 with driver Ricky Rudd. Davey Allison, Dale Jarrett, Kenny Irwin,
Ernie
Irvan, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison, Buddy Baker, Fred Lorenzen and
A.J.
Foyt are among others who've used it. Asked Friday if the Yates
organization
still had any claim on the No. 28, team co-owner Doug Yates said it
did
not. "It'* his if NASCAR lets them have it," Yates said. ...Daily

HMMMM.....
I am gonna go with my sources that say the 81
