Default Curses GM!

Saw this on a GP for sale the other day. My brother was having a similar problem but it was only peeling on the inside and wasn't as major but he got them replaced under warranty.

That doesn't look like a factory defect. That is a classic symptom of someone spraying Westley'* Bleach-Wite on rims, and letting it sit on there. Plus GM would not be to blame even if it wasn't caused by the Bleach-Wite, as the rims are not manufactured by GM, they are manufactured by a private company for GM.

This is quite common, I've seen it happen to two 2nd gen Aurora rims, its chrome peel.

You're lucky that its covered by warranty. OE rims, despite they questionable quality are really expensive.

This is a very common problem on the chrome plated wheels on WS6s and Firehawks. The barrel of the wheel gets pitted very badly.

Thankfully, I have no symptoms of it on our Firehawk.

Yes they are...I replaced one of mine and it was a few dollars shy of 500 at wholesale cost

And to get them rechromed your looking 600 to 800 thats fixing any and all imperfections but when they do it the wheel comes out better then new.

Wow thats awesome the warranty covered that. Most places will tell specifically that chrome rims are not warrantied for that due to it happening so much.
