[quote="GreenMachine98"]the p71 dont have anything different than gears. no different springs or panels or skid plates.
I beg to differ. I have a friend who works at a Ford dealer, and they get cop cars in all the time. They just got a bunch of '07'* w/the police interceptor package: comes with skid plates, 3.55 gearing, stiffer springs, high flow intake and true dual exhaust, not to mention the ECU is flashed differently. They're also gutted for weight reasons, so they're alot lighter. Oh, and posi. Sorry for the double post, BTW.

See now thats what I thought.
But I think the only skid plate is the one under the oil pan so that it can't get ripped off from road debris or a curb or something....
But I think that might be only on those REALLY new ones. And thats some of the reason I might be wanting one too....they are stripped down alot and MUCH lighter than a Crown Vic LX and a WHOLE LOT lighter than a Grand Marquis.
I was ALSO under the impression that they had thicker sway bars with those stiffer springs.
Please add more info on these cars if you have it. I am actually getting interested as well and wouldn't mind just having the info at hand.
BTW, I like your buddy'* Vic green machine, man, if i ever got one, I would definitely want one JUST like that. Black looks SWEET on those.

the '07 has alot of new stuff on it that is not the same as the 98-06 cv. best way to find out is to crawl under the car.
