FWIW:
The GM3400 engine in the Transport is a piece of doggie do do. Our motor went south after 130K. The LIM was replaced twice up to the 130K. From all of the research I did the engine lasting 130K is normal. I was very disappointed in the engine and my local Pontiac dealership; I will never go back to them for anything.
Sorry to be so negative but I had a really bad experience with the engine.
Overall we have a 98 Transport Montana and the ride is super nice, van is well built, transmission is still running strong but the engine leaves a lot to be desired.
