Now THAT'* called taking a risk, but really, it'* a smart move, considering that it'* purely a marketing scheme, being that it'* non-transferable, and most major issues won't happen for 5 or more years. It'* a good way to separate Chrysler from the pack, and might just save the marque altogether.

Apparently, the only fly in the ointment is that the new warranty only applies to the original owner and is not transferable.

Not that they aren't reliable for the most part, but c'mon. lol You don't go from a 3-year warranty to a LIFETIME warranty without dramatically changing something on their cars for the better IMO.

Aside for transmissions problems, and a lack of power, I have never had a problem with any of the many Chryslers I have owned.
I wouldn't take one over a Bonnie, mind you, but if all I could find in my price range was a Chrslyer, I'd do it.
I agree ofcourse, that it is just marketing. Most ownere will not have the car long enough to reap the full benefits. Of course, it certainly makes the new Challenger more apealing.

I had a 78 Lebaron with the 318 and 3 speed auto. Bullet proof both and I really puth them through the test. Anyway Chyrslers answer to fuel injection at the time was called LEAN BURN. Wow that system ruined a good car. I also owned a 1988 Chrysler 5th Avenue with the 318 and not LEAN BURN. I loved that car till my mom made me sell it to repay a debt.

For the time I owned the Sebring (2 years, 3 months) I was fairly happy with the reliability.
I found it unacceptable that both wheel bearings crapped out in under 37,000 miles. But as far as everything else went, it wasn't bad. I drove that car harder than any of my Bonnes and the tranny still worked.
Who knows how long it would have lasted. I had a 100,000 mile extended warranty on it though so I would have been covered.

ohhhh id get a loaded new avenger r/t with the 3.5 awd 
normally i wouldnt even consider a chrysler, but with a lifetime powertrain i might just look at them when its time to dump the alero
