Vacuum twice a day for a few weeks. That usually takes care 'house' of the flea problem; you still have to take care of the source thou.

My mom'* kitten had fleas. Do NOT give the kitten to many flea baths, she is to young right now. When you take her to the vet, alot of times they will give the cat a pill that will kill the living fleas off of the kitten. Then buy the Advantage for cats. it'* great! 1 treatment every month and no worries about fleas.

As for your apartment, vacumm very good. The couches too! But make sure to keep the kitten on flea control for atleast 3-4 months to make sure no eggs have hatched. The Advantage stuff will take care of all that but you need to make sure the "cycle" is done.
