I take it by the list we are compiling that rap and hip hop are not really liked genres of music around here

I'm not a country bumkin, so excuse my ignorance, but what is this song like? I grew up around Bakersfield...just curious.

Also, I own a 1969 Lincoln and have driven it up through the Grapevine (I-5 south of Bakersfield on the way to L.A.) so I am very fond of "Hot Rod Lincoln".

AWEsome up-tempo Country song,...Dwight grew up in Bakersfield(does all of his recording and Movie work from there)...as did one of his musical heroes Buck Owens('60'*-'70'*-80'* fame)[.....and as did the American Icon Country music singer,Merle Haggard...but that'* another whole story]and the one he sings the duet with 'Streets Of Bakersfield",....go download it somewhere and give it a listen. [BTW if you're into Country music,the legend Johnny Cash was asked just recently on 'Larry King Live'(I saw the show) who his favorite Country Music singer was,.......without a second of hesitation he said,"Dwight Yoakam" ]

Yeah, I was aware of Buck Owens (Hee Haw fame) connections to Bakersfield. My folks listened to country while I was growing up. (Probably responsible for my dissinterest in it now). Do you have a link to where I might listen?
