I beg to differ (and this is open for argument)....what if your knock sensor fails? Are you going to accept the damage?
What about the knock that gets through? The first one that HAS to get through for the sensor to even 'hear' it?
Not worth it. If it says premium on the car, run it. I'd call it a requirement.

Well then you have just proved what I said about all northstar engines requiring premium from about 1993+
Why would you run normal cheap gas on a 10.1+ comp ratio engine? Noone in there right mind would. If Cadillac didnt state it in a any way, then there just as stupid as the buyer to run regular cheap pump gas.

An SS truck brought into the market slower than the other 2 competitors, yet newer, and supposedly more "refined"

Careful here.....WANT knock retard?
How about want KNOCK? Do you know what kind of damage that can do to an engine?
No, it'* not required. But buy the extended warranty, and hope they don't test the octane and check your knock counter in your PCM when you take the car in!

Ok so.....less fuel mileage, more power... same performance.......
Not to mention the L67 has twice the capability, thanks to it not having a 10:1+ comp ratio.....

All you do is spend more money and get nothing back.
Doesn't hurt the car to run 87 if it'* rated for 87!

right on vibe dude..lol.. only reason why you my think that premium helps in preformace (IF its not rated for premium) is because there is more cleaners in premium(teaspoon per 1000?Letres)... but its only enough cleaner to help for that blast of gas... so its not going to keep the injectors clean for the next tank...
my brand new 8100 runs on reguler gas sure it gets 11mpg... but its still recomended for reguler... said it before and ill say it again... you could **** in the gas tank and she'd run
