That'* a great deal. You're looking at around 300-500 for a decent consumer grade zoom lens, so budget yourself for that.
I have a 300D, which is slightly older and slightly bigger than that 350D. Both are excellent cameras.

ps - the canon was NOT a good deal with nearly 10,ooo pics taken and No lense. A decent lense will cost another few hundred...

Luckily if the shutter goes bad the thing will still be under warranty. Speaking of that, how long is the warranty on that?

If I had the extra $$$ I would have loved to go with the 350D, it was so tempting when she gave it to me to play with. Just one click with that camera was all I needed, but I went with the S3 instead to get started with.
I am not sure how much it will really get used, plus the S3 can take video.
