Bye Neon, hello Lumina, bye 56K
After a heckova couple of months, my 1998 Plymouth Neon is gone. The motor finally gave out (cracked piston head) at 170,000 miles after the car saved us more than $3000 in a year.
Crunch! This was back in December:
That'* what a 15mph accident does to the front of a Neon.
Fixed. Not pretty, but functional.
A few weeks later, it died on my way to work. Testing shows no compression in the 3rd cylinder. We took it to a friend of the family'* shop, he finds the cracked piston head. I got word last Sunday night that the car'd been scrapped by the request of my father in law. Called the scrapyard on Monday to go get the last of my stuff from it. It'* already been crushed AND shredded. Odd, since the unsigned title is quite literally sitting on the passenger side of my Lumina.
At least now I've got my Betty.
