The bonne is gone.....

I'll admit to liking those quite a bit, despite the fact that when they first came out I was as disappointed as John is. Since then I've ridden in one and seen how surprisingly afforable they are for what you get. Down here, you can get a 2005 with the 400 hp LS2 and lots of goodies for under $20,000 as listed, before haggling.
I would seriously consider getting one of these for Liz (lol), and then have the Bonne for some more serious modding. It'* just about time, since the White horse has over 170K on it now.
The negative collective opinion of this series GTO will work in the favor of power enthusiasts in the short term, in terms of reduced second-hand pricing. Eventually, despite and maybe because of Pontiac'* decision to stop producing them, they will regain that lost value, IMO.

Completely agree.
The target customer base (baby-boomers with $$$ to burn) was turned off by it when it first came out, and the car was never really given the chance it deserved.
Take the badging off and look at what the car is, not what the name is (or actually what it was), and you'll realize how silly it is to not like the car. Besides, if you want to tear apart a wanna-be GTO, look at the 73-74 goats. Gas crisis abominations.
And I believe that since its going the way of the Grand National, I'll be keeping this thing for awhile and making a decent profit down the road.

I am with you on the resale thing I got my eyes on a 76 fbird and 67 69 fbird that my neighbor will sell to me for 2500 and then you got the 72 GTO that is still in the original owners hands. I am just biding my time till they all go up for sale and I will snap them up real quick and fix them and sell them or strip the 67 for drag
