Goodbye tires. Goodbye transmission.

Well I can get unlimited tires for free I know a guy that his grandpa owns a junk-yard and i can get em with rims also......I dunno why but I trust trannys close to the year in fords like my friends moms 96 taurus that has 190k miles and that thing takes revese drops and so much beating and still runs decent but trannys are like $100 and about 15 hrs of work with a newbie like me

Thats what I said to myself yesterday when I was coming home from work. I turned onto the road leading to my subdivision and I was going ~20mph and decided to stomp it. Me, forgetting (or at least forgetting what would happen because of it) that I put in a chip Friday night, heard a lot of squealing, had a car trying to drive sideways, and saw some nice 35-40ft. burnout marks (two tires too!) on the road behind me...and that was from a 20mph roll! Too much of that and I won't have tires or a tranny. Mods are bad...especially when you have the self control of a 16 year old like me...

This is the first time ever that I have heard somebody say that the trannyi n a taurus was actually good. We had a 90 Mercury sable that had the tranmission go out at 80k, then it went out again at 120k. we junked the car after that. My friend had a 91 Taurus that the tranny went out at 140k, and 2 times before he even bought it (bought it at around 110k miles). There are tons of people who are trying to get a lawsuit out against ford for designing a transmission as horrible as the ones that are in the Taurus. BTW, tranmissions aren't that cheap, try more like $2,000
