wow. they are rare here even over at yellowstone.
I have not seen one since I was in alaska....which if anyone here as been in eastern alaska you will notice that they are one of the most common birds up there.

Saw one Sat morning driving to the Cities. This one was really close. He was coming in for a landing right over the hiway as I was driving by. Very majestic creatures.

We have them nest in the tops of power poles.
Local elec co has even set up unstrung poles so they don't risk electrocuting themselves.
