Car Crashes Into Niagara County House
Updated: Feb 23, 2008 08:19 AM EST
(NEWFANE, NY - February 23, 200 - Niagara County Sheriff'* Deputies say two young boys were unharmed when a car slammed into their Town of Newfane house as they slept early Saturday morning.
Investigators say a car operated by 31-year-old Heather Carlisle of Niagara Falls was travelling southbound on Route 78 around 3:00am, when the driver lost control, and struck the house.
The boys were sleeping inside at the time, but deputies say they were not hurt.
Carlisle was taken to ECMC, where she'* listed in stable condition. She'* charged this morning with DWI and other counts.
This is the house....

This was the livingroom...my son and his friend were sleeping on the sofa bed. They narroowly escaped injury/death. If the couch had been against that front wall...he'd be dead for sure...
100_2303.jpg
Looking out from the sofabed... the window frame , wall parts, glass, and parts from the vehicle scatterd all over where they were sleeping.... hey check out that sexy bonneville across the road....look familiar?

This is the headlight lens from the SUV...it landed at my son'* feet.

The entertainment center was against the wall and slid a feet and then fell over onto the bed. The TV landed literally inches from the friend'* head...his sleeping bag is the black one. My son was using the pink one.... :? <mental note to speak to the boy about that>
100_2313.jpg
Thank goodness they didn't have a bigscreen tv...
100_2315.jpg
This picture tells of another miracle...the only thing that kept the entertainment center from falling on the boys is that glass of orangejuice. My son got thirsty in the middle of the night...he moved that coffee table over to set his drink on it. That coffee table is what kept the entertainment center from falling on them directly...

HItting the house must have redirected the vehicle....she should have hit that tree head on...instead she traveled across the yard...across the driveway...and HIT the next house (with the pink door) before coming to a stop. They had to use the Jaws Of Life to remove her.

The plastic guard and other parts from under the vehicle were littered across the driveway before hitting the house.
100_2326.jpg
The vehicle must have been launched from the hard snowbank because there was no visible breakage of the foundation...needless to say...she was definitely exceeding the 30mph speedlimit. :?
There are so many things that went into place that made this no less than a miracle. I know that there was an angel protecting the boys...probably the same angel who saved my other son from his car accident. http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...light=ricerson I am eternally thankful to God for keeping my children alive so I can be there mother yet another day... Life can be ended/changed in an instant....now go hug someone and tell them you love them.

OMG Tracy! That'* just horrible . I'm so glad he'* ok. There must have been some angels looking over him that night... That'* why I'm not liked by the end of a party... I'm always the one to take the keys from people because of stuff like this. They all say, "ohhh, don't worrrry... I'm fine!!!!". Yeah. Right. If you seem just the LEAST bit tipsy, oh yeah, I'll take your keys and I'll pay for the cab home. After witnessing multiple incidents like that (well, not personally) including one that killed the Granville deputy that let me off the hook when he caught me doing 10 over (2 months after I got my license, too...), I'm pretty ruthless about drunk driving. Sorry for that little rant, I just hate seeing these stories... Especially since every night I'm driving home between 10-11pm after my night classes...
Tracy, you and your family have angels, I'm so glad he'* alright

So glad your son and his friend seem to have escaped any serious injury.
I can't imagine how it must have been for you to get the phonecall.
