Another laptop thread
I didn't want to jack the other laptop thread, so I figured I'd start my own.
My sister-in-law is looking for a new laptop.
I think, thanks to you guys,(and gals) she'* going HP.
Here are 2 she is looking at, and would consider others.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5983048
That one is through WalMart as you see which is where she works so she would get her 10% discount and has the Intel processor.
This one at Best Buy is similar but has the AMD processor.

As near as I can tell the processor is the only difference. I guess that makes the big question is it it worth the extra $ to go with the Intel processor?
I told her I thought it was but I would check with the gurus.
Anyways she is shipping off to Africa in the Spring to be a Missionary, and her new lappy will be her source of entertainment (DVD'* and CD'*), communication (plans on using the webcam, buying us all one before she leaves), as well as general word processing, photo storage and what not. No gaming.
Any other thoughts?
Oh yeah, she definitely wants the traditional number keypad.

I bought one of these.....

I find that if you stick with the business line you get less crap preloaded.

I think she doesn't want much over, if any, the $1,300.00 at WalMart. She could spend more if it was really worth it, but these both look to do what she wants/needs. But Wren, you would know far better than I.

hell yah. i love my toshiba, and walmart has an excellent one for the price with everything she'll need.
here. perfect.

and btw, 15.4 is not that bad for watching movies on, i watch them on mine ALL the time. its right in front of you, it looks huge compared to watching it on a tv
but if shes absolutely set on an HP, get that first one, thats EXCELLENT for the price. Intel FTW.
