Default another car input post

im helping my friend Ellie buy a car, i found one for her fairly cheap, and its nearby her.

heres a link to the car

He only wants 1800 for it, which really isnt too bad in my opinion. I know the 2.2 is a soild little engine and shes not really concerned about power. She doesnt like that its a 5-speed, but she can learn

any thoughts? he said its been maintained well, regular oil changes and no major problems, said he had some trouble with the injectors and fuel rail early on, but that he got it all replaced.

how well do these little cars hold up in an accident? it wouldnt seem like they would do very well. [/url]

My wife and I had a 97 Cavy identical to that. We sold it in 03 with 185,000 miles on it. DAMN strong runner. Wish we never would have sold it. We had very, very few issues with it. Biggest thing to watch out for on that engine is the head gasket. The 2.2s tend to chew them up! In the time we had ours, we had it replaced once at 135,000.

is it just impossible for GM to make an engine that doesnt have gasket troubles?

I for one like the car and i think it would be good for her as it wouldnt put her in as much debt as shes wanting to go into...shes gonna have enough with starting college. But you know you cant tell a woman anything

*runs and hides*

That'* got the Quad 4. I'd be very careful with that engine. Definitely not one of GM'* best engines out there. Try doing a head gasket on that thing.
