This angers me. (got a few min to read, go for it)
Well, here, I'll give out a story.
I am 17, and I go to a 'therapeutic rehabilitation' school , or different words, BD school.
Back in Middle school (6th grade) my parents got me into a BD program at the middle school I was at (Regular HW load was hell on me, I could never ever keep up, and my math skills were a few years behind..)and that was good, I'm a pretty smart individual, I just act immature alot, but anyway.. I was involved in several fights..in which, I was defending myself usually. The rule at the school was that if you were to be suspended 10 or more days total, you were to be put into the behavioral disorder program. If you were in the behavioral disorder program, and you had 10 days outstanding, you were expelled, and put into a therapeutic day school (the bd school)
Anyhow, when I was younger, my father passed away, so it was a sensitive thing.. And in 6th and 7th, the kid in the bd class at my middle school every day would make fun of it being all "HAHA YOUR DAD IS DEAD AND MINE ISNT" and whatnot..
He sometimes pushed me around, and there were a few times I took so much, then snapped on him. The teacers then, and now, disliked and dislike me, because I'm the type of person where if something'* bothering me, I'm not afraid to turn into a real *** about things.. I get tired of being subtle.
Anyway, I had suspensions for getting in fights with the same kid on 3 occasions, and their rule was each physical incident, both the offensive person was suspended for a 3-day out of school suspension, and the one who was being hit (EVEN IF NOT RESPONSIVE, NOT HITTING BACK OR TRYING TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AT ALL, NOT TAKING ANY ACTION BACK WHATSOEVER) was also to be suspended 3 days out of school. This happened 3 times, 1st time was in the gym locker room, kid shoved me into my locker, and my ear caught the door and cut my ear open pretty bad, I pushed him down and kicked the crap out of him, he had to go to the hospital.. second time, we were outside for gym on the soccer field, and the kid said "HEY ERIC LOOK" *kicks straight at head* and when I held my head after it hit me, he laughed and said HAHA RIGHT ON TARGET, I ran after him, nailed him in the jaw with my fist, and started beating him profusely.. Third occurance was in the hallway, I was talking with my friend and he come up with a trapperkeeper (binder) and whacks me on top of the back of my head full-force as hard as he could, I spun around, and kicked him right in the jewels, and started hitting him into the locker.. He broke a few teeth when he hit the locker.. My friend had to pull me off of him and she was struggling 'cause I was so mad.. That was the total of 9 days worth of suspensions.. the fourth (which was the final straw) was at a dance, I was with the same girl, but we'd just began dating since we liked each other, and he threw a can of pepsi at me, and he missed and it hit her in the nose and her nose was bleeding really badly.. I decided I'd throw him ot the ground and I hit him right in the face and broke his nose and I also had a ring on so it gashed his cheek right between the part of your cheek that gets red when you blush and the side of his nose.. was bleeding.. Cops pulled me off of him and I was in cuffs, and they didn't arrest me, but they used them to hold me back.. That was the last time I got in a fight.. it was in december, and that next january (jan of '02) i was to finish my 7th year of school out in a day-school (BD).. and the next year, to go to the bd high school (which also has 8th in it for some reason..8th through 12th grade) so i've been in there since basically.. i've never been to a homecoming, never been to a prom , and i most likely won't get to ever do any of the **** regular kids get to do..
it'* like lockdown, we walk in .. in the morning, there'* two metal detectors.. we set our bags or whatever we have on tables, staff search them, and if there'* a lighter or something you know, they give us detentions.. we don't even have a cafeteria.. we stay in one class all day unless we get lucky for the semester and have woodshop, art, or computer class.. well, we get to go out of class to gym, but that'* into the actual gym, which is upstairs ..my class is in the basement
theres a thing called ' re entry ' which is a program to get back into your home high school, but every time i get near getting back in, my teachers say things and taunt me, or it feels like it to me, and i snap, say something out of line, and i get back right where i started
this sucks.. one more year after this.. there'* a 25% out of 100 chance i'll actually make it back into a regular high school by january for just like 1 or 2 classes..if that
/end rant
oh btw, if you don't believe me about half of it, check out my schools website

i dont know what to tell you. i was one of the smart kids that was an outcast by most. got honor roll almost every year until high school. about that time my mental problems came into play <depression>. i found it hard to do homework. it would take me 3 hours to do a 20 min task. i gave up on the homework, and grades headed south. failed one semester of one class freshman year, then 2 classes sophmore year, then 4 junior year. i could have graduated if i got everything right senior year. i decided to drop out and go for the GED. i made a joke of that test <650 on writing and 720-760 on everything else. 800 point scale, i placed in the 99'th percentile>. after i dropped out, the doctors finally figured out what was going on with me. instead of depression, i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. they finally got that under control with meds, then ADD came into play. i came off the meds and moved out of home. the only thing causing me to need meds was dad, and after i moved out, i was fine. i am still bipolar, with ADD, but i am more screwed up with meds then without.
hang in there, and i believe i just hijacked this thread

all I have to really say is that you made decisions in your life that put you where you are now. You didn't have to react to any of those situations in the way you did, and because of it, you are now in a school for children who exhibit deviant behaviors. Nobody forced you to retaliate by getting into a fight, you chose to do that. Do you think that people might pick on you because of how much you might over-react to certain situations? Often times people see things differently than they really are. Sounds like normal kid behavior to me, kids just messing around. You take it as a personal attack and defent yourself. The only way you're going to change yourself, is to change how you see these situations and finally, the way in which you react. If you change that, you're more likely to get back into the regular school, rather than feeling like you're always the victim.
I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but your decisions put you where you are, and your own choices can get you back out of it in time. Just learn from your mistakes and learn how not to do this again. Don't try and place the blame on anyone else, take responsibility for your actions.
Just my two cents.

Eric. Not sure if a reference would do you any good for the re-entry program, but if it would, I'd be willing to write you a recommendation based on my experience with you on this public internet forum.

Rjolly87 - That'* my other problem.. I was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD when I was five years of age.. That'* my other problem, mostly that.. I get depressed alot, yeah.. I just don't really talk to anyone with it, I just forget 3/4 of it.. or I just act like it doesn't bother me..
Custom88 - Yeah, I know it'* my fault for reacting, but.. Would you just sit there and let a kid mess with your girlfriend, or hit you with no reason behind it, just for the hell of it?
Vital - It'* not that much, really. Only took me maybe 2-3 minutes to type that.. but then again, I've got about a 88 word per minute average typing speed..
Willwren - ..It'* just like, we have to do 'weekly summaries' .. and our therapist/social worker reads them.. basically, every day, it'* on a sheet that i write what happened, how i dealt with it, and how i behaved, if i got my work done, and that sort of stuff. Doubt the idea would work, but what have you in mind? Not too sure what you mean by reference, though.
ASIDES FROM THE THING I POSTED;
I didn't say anything about this, but I do leave the school EVERY day at 12:35 and head over by the local college to a technology center, community college, CLC'* 'tech campus' and I'm in Automotive Service 1.
http://techcampus.org/as.html
Best thing that happened in schooling so far, though .. Hoping to finish this up next year
Right now I'm in engine performance and parts repairs and next year is suspension and brakes.. after that, I'm hoping I can get into another technical school for another two year course, finish that all up, and hopefully become ASE Certified in all 8 fields.

yeah there is a school here like that they call it the Charter School and its basically where all the delinquients go....i am in the same building but on the otherside of them in the academy...our building is placed 2.5 blocks away from the regular school complex.
Eric..i can totally understand that how you would react...there was one a$$hole in my jr high in hawaii, he just lived his life with a stick up his a$$ and was constantly doing crap to me and then running away like some 2 year old or something..but one day i finally chased him down and got ahold of him and beat the motherlovin crap outta him...consequently got suspended, he stopped being a jerk after that...apparently that kid you dealt with did not wanna give up. That sucks.
I have a really bad rap at the other school and all my friends think i am in the charter school and i am a delinquent when i am actually in the Accelerated Learning Academy....that is the only time i have ever beaten the heck out of anyone....but up here i have not encountered any bullies...most the kids are nice, some are a bit iffy, some mean but none super-violent...
well hope everything works out eric....good luck!
