Still like My Bonnevilles tho

Eventho I don't care for certain makes...

I have to give Honda, Toyota, Nissian and a few others Props...
Personally, I have come to the realization that I dislike a specific type/group of people that the small hondas seem to attract. The cars themselves are just another car.
Well put. I have a soft spot in my heart for a lot of rice...but not the crowd that is attracted to it...I'm gonna burn

Value now: 14000-16000$
Unfortunately true. That $10k might as well be a low-ish RETAIL price, too... good if you're buying one, horrendous if you've bought one... there'* a '01 SSEi close to my house for $9950 right now, "off-lease".

I give props where props is due, and the Civic gets it. The previous generation wasn't too good in my eyes - 1992-1995 and 1996-2000 were good years.

I much enjoy driving mom'* Altima, but switching from a big boat that'* done 335,000km can do that to you. In a straight line, it'* no slower than the LN3, and with livelier throttle response, and being a relatively big 2.4L, it'* quite the torque monster that likes to rev yet doesn't run out of breath... in the corners, excellently weighted steering with lots of feedback, and a linear brake pedal. I take corners with much more enthusiasm in the Altima than the Bonnie. Ride is firm, but not bone-jarring, the Altima was often known for its confidence in cornering. If I had $10-12k to spend on a used car right now, a 5-speed 2001 Altima SE would be very much on my shopping list.

My uncle has a top-dawg (minus leather) '92 Accord, with about the same mileage as my Bonneville. It'* still a reliable car, albeit rusty - the SSE is only slightly better. The car feels taut, sporty yet comfortable yet four-door. Excuse the typically rough-shifting automatic though, Honda manuals are THE way to go

I do agree that the stereotypical small Honda crowd... leaves something to be desired at times, but some of these guys - the guys who mod things right - are as cool as any other car person. It'* each car'* target crowd: don't get me wrong, but I don't feel some of the say, J-body crowd is any better. Each group has its goodies and baddies. Being active here and yet adminstrating a (not as active) Toyota Forum, I try to see things down the middle: after all, on both here and on my forum, we're into now-discontinued large flagship sedans

That said, I call out more 'fanboyism' on ToyotaNation'* forums (another place I frequent) than I do here. Thanks to a few specific troublemakers, I often find myself extolling the values of the 3800... I think we're a well-rounded bunch here... we know what we're talking about

We can have the nays and yays about these small little cars all we want. Sure people build them to be power monsters...but what happens when they get hit by something bigger than a compact pick up. I dont care how many "stars" a compact or J-body car has, they make look nice, but alot of people that get into accidents above say..20 mph? get hurt. We've personally here, had a number of members that were involved in serious accidents to thankfully walk away being that our cars H and W body can take alot of punishment. Had those members involved in rear enders, roll-overs or accidents like that, we wouldnt be talking about a sport compact, more the memory of our last comrades.

While 190 hp out of a 4 cylinder is definitely impressive......are we forgetting the Quad 4 from GM that put out 180 hp 15+ years ago? And as was mentioned, those motors need to get up there in RPMs to benefit from those numbers.

On the other hand, (for those that hate the ricer crowd) as someone also said, let'* not forget we have quite a few idiots on "our" side, too. Too many domestic lovers bragging about how quick their 160 hp V6 in a 3,000+ lb car is, and how they can blow away ricers with ease. Like the guy that labled his Cardomain page "rice killer". The page was dedicated to his 140 hp 3.1L, Gen I Chevy Lumina. 'Nuff said?

yea i have a soft spot for them too *sarcasm*, i ram them with mercurys

i dont mind the styling of the new civic but imo hondas rust too fast/much

theres a 90 ish accord up the street that has an insane amount of rust, and its falling apart, my old neighbour had one too and its rust was so bad that the hose for the fuel fill rusted out of its bracket so everytime you put gas in it you had to fish out the hose to do so.

not any faster than the Bonneville. How it was cared for in previous lives/ownerships is PARAMOUNT. *Unfortunately*, the PO of this SSE wasn't too good.
