I'm with everyone else, NEXT this chick. Fight for your rights and protection though. For every crazy lady that can't/won't get it together, there are countless quality ones to be found.
It aint a defeat either, just a case of life being too short for this drama BS.
Maybe a letter to the state Bar association as well as the TV reporters?

I don't think he has a thing for this chick guys, He said she liked him, but they don't have anything.. :?:
Maybe you need to see a higher court, but i'd definetly look at another law office that may want to fight head to head. SOMEONE is always looking to move ahead in any walk of life.

I have a question that I havent seen asked yet, and Im not trying to be a jackass by asking it, but Custom....why didnt you fight back? You didnt mention it, so maybe you did and just didnt mention it. I mean Im built like a 14 yr old girl but Id still fight back if some guy kicked the door in and started wailin on me and then had the nerve to hit a woman. Heck I dont care if its a stranger, if I see a man hit a woman, Im not gonna be a happy camper.
But with all the civil, criminal, and even love mumbo jumbo aside, I dont think walking away from this girl is the answer, especially given the circumstances. Maybe its just my personality, but if my girlfriend, or even just one of my female friends had a crazy ex boyfriend, the last thing I would do is walk away from her and say "sorry youre on your own". It just doesnt seem right. I mean this guy has shown that he has no problem hitting her, whats to stop him from hitting the kid? I would not want to leave her or that child alone for any period of time at all, let alone walk off and leave them completely. But thats just me.

Hoov, you're not alone. I believe a few of us have mentioned he needs to try and talk her into getting some sort of help. But, it was also stated that he mentioned a restraining order to her, and she refuses.
There'* only so much you can do to help someone, no matter how much you may want to. At some point, you have to decide how much that person is willing to help themselves

I didn't fight back because she came between him and I trying to stop him from hitting me. I wasn't going to take the chance of hitting her, even though he had absolutely no regard for her safety. I wasn't going to take that chance. Another reason is I figure it would look worse on him if I didn't fight back because that is more of a genuine assault, than if I hit back. At the time I figured it would be considered more a "fight" if I hit back, than an assault. I'm going to go down to the sherrif'* office today and see what I can do about getting a copy of the police report/pictures/recordings the officer had taken. I have to have those to get a restraining order. Unfortunately, if I took pictures now as evidence, I've almost completely healed from the attack already. I'm a fast healer. (usually a good thing, but in this case, it'* a very BAD thing. :( )

Good luck, keep us posted. You did the right thing. If you were to fihgt back, you could have easily gotten in toruble for assault your self. Around here, it'* petty easy to get a restraitning order. Good luck

I got the paperwork for a PPO (personal protection order) from the courthouse today. My appointment to get the papers filed is Monday at 1:30. (earliest appointment they had.) I'm going to try and get the judge to see the paperwork asap due to the threats. I think you can get the PPO expediated in cases like this where an assault already happened.
