Would this system be the Central Port Injection system?
These are picky at the very least..
I do agree, check the fuel pressure and see if its within specs

Yeah its the 96+ CSFI injection. I had someone tell me that if it was going bad at all, it would trip a CEL, so far everyone has told me to check the fuel pressure, and make sure the knock sensor wire isnt touching a spark plug wire.

Does the CTS have anything to do with the fueling? Just wondering if the sensor could be bad and that is why it runs better unplugged versus plugged in? Or there is some other problem and the unplugged sensor provides a band-aid for it because of the condition mode it forces the computer to go into? I'm just tossing ideas out, I really have litle idea how much of a role the cts plays other than a cold/warm/hot engine monitor.

I figured that the CTS is good, since it isn't tripping a check engine light. And yes, the PCM'* CTS does play a factor in how much fuel the engine gets, it rates it off the engine temp. In fact, I am going to unplug the CTS and see how it runs.

If the CTS helps determine how much fuel the motor gets, it might be unplugged to add fueling. If fueling is an issue..that would be a cheater way to get it running...sort of.
Similar to how the bonne defaults to like 40F if the IAT is unplugged.

Colder engines require more fuel. CTS pulls down the voltage more in high heat.
Basically disconnecting the CTS tells the PCM the engine is cold as h*ll. The PCM adjusts fuel accordingly.
