stock 1998 z28 camaro = approximately 13.7 in 1/4

11s to 12s seems very easy in those cars. 500hp could be an exaggeratation, but 11s to 12s seems very very possible. i wouldn't doubt that it could be in the 400s for hps though.

That'* cool Alien, I'll never forgot my first almost crapped my self ride, buddy I used to work with had a 62 Chevy Nova II it was restored by himself and his father in the garage, took 3 years, got the car when he was 14, buit new 400 crate motor, the car was neck snapping fast.

There was a movie with a scene in it, guy in fast car tapes a 100 dollar bill to the windshield in front of the passanger, says you can have it if you can reach it during the next 1/4 mile. The passanger couldn't grab it, I used to think yeah right, but this nova was one of those cars that could do this, he did it for me with a buck. I couldn't reach it.

And yes, this car is capable of producing 500+hp in its current form with some tuning. It looks like a diesel truck when i get on it pig rich! and if ya look at that trap speed, this car has the capabillity of being a solid 10sec car. It'* still relatively tame. But the current clutch, and 10 bolt rear end wont handle a 6k clutch dump

Low-mid 400'* I totaly believe with that ET. I just hear too many clames of I did " "
now I can out run darkness. So I call out clames that seem inflated.
On that you done some solid work to the 'maro and you do well around here with it.

Just to let you know its NOT a '98. 98'* were LS1'* which were much more capable, and they had the rouned headlight, not the square ones.

LT1'* don't even break into the 13'* stock without a GOOD driver. With that stuff its not a low 11 second car. Maybe mid 11'*, but not low 11'*. The trap speeds really don't tell you much. People think that X trap speed = X 1/4 mile time and its just not true. The trap speed will vary depending on your power curve. If you have more low-end power you will have a lower trap speed than normal, with lots of topend it will be opposite. And I know that the car could be making 500+ whp, but it isn't...it is making a little over 400whp. My car could be making 300whp...but it is only making 182...see how that works.

Still that is a badass car, don't get me wrong...its just not REALLY fast. Its fast, definatley fast enough for me on the street. I would definately drive it everyday, rain, snow, or shine. Definately wouldn't mind having one.

Kind off off topic but 2 weeks ago one of my friends took me for a ride in his Uncles COMPLETELY STOCK '02 SS Camaro 6 Speed, and in all honesty I have never been scared in a car before until then. The car felt faster than the GTP, even though I know its a good second slower, because it sits so low to the ground and there is a lot of road noise. My friend was driving the car normal when we first started driving, maybe just a bit hard, but mostly normal, he turns on the turn signal puts the clutch in drops it into 2nd and proceeds to appear to turn the corner normal, mashes the gas to the floor and dumps the clutch...holy hell...the car went completely sideways one way, then the other, then the other, then he slammed it to 3rd and it was still sideways...now that didn't really scare me, that was just really fun 'cause there was a lot of room and no traffic. Then he pulled into a parking lot all normal of course, and turned around. Got to the exit of the parking lot, looked over at me with a completely straight face, put it in 1st, made sure nobody was coming, revved it to about 4k and just dumped the clutch and mashed the gas to the floor, of course the car went sideways right at a tree, so he left his foot on the gas and turned the wheel and we started going sideways the other way, this is when I realized there were cars coming at us, he slams it into 2nd (without using the clutch of course) and the car goes sideways the other way, then the other way, then the other way, we went back and fourth between going straight at cars and going straight at a tree...then he slammed it into 3rd (this is in a 30mph speed limit too) and kept going. And wow was I holding on. That was the most fun I have ever had in a car, and I wasn't even driving. THAT was fun. It really makes me wish that I could've gotten that '98 Z28 that I was looking at a few months ago.

Shawn
