A 438hp HYBRID
Anyone see the Lexus commercials about their upcoming 438hp hybrid? Check these out:

Hybrid vehicles have some pretty nice instant torque anyway. Any thoughts?

I was wondering too, all I found was very vague.
The smaller 460 is expected to get into the low 20'* for mpg. I suppose thats not too shabby for a 380hp/370ft-lb machine.
The Lexus Hybrid Drive system found in the LS 600h L is the automotive industry’* most advanced gas-electric hybrid system developed to date, providing power and performance on par with modern 12-cylinder engines while still delivering best-in-V8-class fuel efficiency.

In Toyota engine coding, this would be the 2UR-FSXE.
It'* a 5.0L V8 on the gasoline end of the motor. Hybrids don't always have to be the pussyfooted little mpg maximizers... we've seen with the V6 Honda Accord hybrid and the Lexus GS450h and RX400h that they can give the extra swift kick in the pants while improving economy.
