Yes, I remember that from back in '96 when they were tempting people with those claims. It wasn't until GM did some durability testing to determine that the trani would not hold up to more than 280 ft-lbs for extended warranty purposes.

Impressive to see that most of us modders are up to and beyond 14.5 sec 1/4 mi times....but treading lightly and blowing up our trani'* left right and center.

Got me lusting for an Intercooler again.....

Wow, that is one good looking GP. I wouldn't mind having one of those in my driveway. I absolutely love the fender flairs, the wheels, and the exhaust tips on that. It makes it look so mean and aggressive. I want!

I'm making close to 300 HP now, but I still can't beat that styling.

Those fender flares are sweet, but that is the only difference in styling between that car and the actual production model. So you could actually take a GTP and make it look very close to that one. The hood & exhaust are available. (in fact, those tips came stock on our GTP) The only problem you might have is getting those wheels, but I'm sure you could find some very close to those if you can't find those exact wheels. But it is definately a good looking car.

As usual, GM'* FWD tranny problems prevent them from producing a badass car.

I've seen this article numerous times before, but every time I see it I just have to read it again, it was a sweet car.

Do you notice how the rear wheels are wider and offset from the front ones.....just like a rear wheel drive car. :?

Cause GM can't come up with a tranny to handle the power. Just think of what we could do if we had an IC from the factory.
