1995 Roadmaster LT1 issue
My dad is courting a 1995 Roadmaster wagon that he can get on the cheap. The cars body is in great shape and needs nothing. The only problem that it does have is from a standing stop WOT the engine bogs down for 1-2 sec then just springs to life. It also does this in park when idling and then if you blip the gas to WOT it bogs. It will not do this if you go 1/2 way and it will not do it if the engine speed is off of idle, or if you go slow. The tranny is good and is the rest of the car, just need to diagnose the problem and the guy will sell it for 3k and fix the problem if it is cheap or deduct the estimate from the purchase price. HELP. This car is perfect. Summers in NY, winters in FL. It has 85k on it.
I think it is something simple, a sensor, vac leak, something. Also, I noticed that it only warms to 2 bars on the temp gauge. Im sure the car has a 160 stat because it only spends time in warm climates, but I cant beleive it would cause this performance issue because I ran a 160 stat in my 89 TA with no performance issues.
