on a car midsize or compact.
roomates looking to trade the jeep after I bought my new car and wants to buy a family sedan.
GP/bonnie/any other old person gm car out of picture. something about an image or something dont know wtf he is talking about.
options so far:
chystler 300m
altima 2.5, fairly new
maxima 3.5 a couple years old, higher miles
passat..whatever can be done for 13Gs
need to get 30mpg on the highway family car that is comfortable and somewhat roomie
any ideas or anything that should be known about the above choices?

Well first off you're not gonna get 30mpg with the 300m or the 3.5 nissan. If he wants just reliable, economic, family car I'd look for a honda accord I-4. A nice condition hyundai would be great too, their resale sucks so you can pick up one for pretty cheap as long as you don't wanna make any money back if eventually selling. And you definately can't beat a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty as corvettecrazy already said.

Avalon'* too Buick-y. Old person image kicking in. Also, you could save some money by buying a fully-loaded V6 Camry... same platform...
